Hindsight Audio: Our Privacy Promise

We built Hindsight Audio to be your personal audio dashcam, a safety net for your brilliant ideas. Because your thoughts are your own, our stance on privacy is incredibly strict:

  • We don't want your data. You do not need to create an account, hand over your email, or log in to use this app.
  • What happens on your phone, stays on your phone. The app captures audio using your phone's temporary "thinking" memory (RAM). Your audio is never natively stored on the internet or sent to the cloud.
  • You are always in control. The app holds a rolling buffer of up to 90 minutes. If you don't explicitly choose to save a clip, that audio drops off and disappears forever.
  • No surprises. Every time you activate the app, we will ask you to acknowledge that the microphone is running in the background. We will never record without your clear, session-by-session permission.

Hindsight Audio Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hindsight Audio ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.

1. Microphone Permissions and Audio Data

To function as an audio-dashcam, Hindsight Audio requires persistent background access to your device's microphone.

  • Purpose: The microphone is used exclusively to capture a rolling, transient audio buffer of up to 90 minutes.
  • Consent: At the start of every session, the app requires the user to explicitly acknowledge and accept that the microphone will run persistently in the background.

2. Data Handling and Local Storage

Hindsight Audio is designed with a privacy-first architecture.

  • RAM-Based Storage: Audio is stored temporarily in your device's random-access memory (RAM).
  • No Cloud Transmission: The data recorded in the rolling audio buffer is never transferred online.
  • User-Initiated Saving: Audio is never permanently saved to your device unless explicitly actioned by the user.
  • Automatic Deletion: Audio data that is not manually saved is automatically and permanently deleted as the 90-minute buffer rolls over, or when the application session is terminated.

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not collect, harvest, transmit, or share your audio data with any third parties. All voice command processing is handled locally on your device using a lightweight AI model that never connects to the internet.

4. Account and Data Deletion Requirements

Hindsight Audio operates entirely without user accounts.

  • No Account Creation: Users are never required to create an account or provide an email address.
  • Data Deletion: Because no personal data or account information is ever collected or transmitted to our servers, there is no user data to delete from our systems. All temporary audio data is managed and deleted locally on the user's device.
